The Kandahar returns to "La Verte des Houches" with a Men's Alpine Skiing World Cup slalom event. A race and entertainment not to be missed!
TheAlpine Ski World Cup, a legendary ski race, has become the biggest event in the Chamonix Valley, making a major contribution to the resort's good name. The race is one of the benchmark races like the Wengen and Kitzbuhel runs. The Verte des Houches run is the only downhill run in the Haute Savoie department to be approved as a "Coupe du Monde Messieurs", a unique and precious privilege.
The Piste Verte des Houches is "green" in name only. The slope is lined with fir trees and faces away from the sun to offer a frozen, green-colored run, hence the name.
The Piste Verte des Houches is in fact a black run with a vertical drop of 870m and a length of 3343m. The world's best skiers descend it in just two minutes. A series of highly technical sections and jumps, including the Cassure and the Goulet, guarantee that this run is one of the most beautiful in the world. It's the only FIS-approved downhill run on the Men's World Cup circuit in the region.
